FAQ
Do I have to have reached financial independence and/or retired early to attend?
Absolutely not, we will not be checking net wealth at the door, nor are the retirement police invited! This event is inclusive and anyone on the journey to FI can attend. Simply bring your growth mindset and willingness to connect with like-minded individuals.
Who is this event for?
It doesn't matter what flavour of FI you lean towards, be it Mustachian, Fat FIRE, Lean FIRE, Barista FIRE, Early Retirement Extreme, or anything in between, you are welcome.
For many people on the FI journey, the people they interact with on a day-to-day basis (friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances) don’t really “get” it, which can make talking about FI-related topics challenging. The camp will be an opportunity to meet others who are on the journey and learn from one another.
Who is this event *not* for?
This is not a place to sell or market any products. If you work for a company, that’s great, but know that you’re attending as an individual as an equal part of the community.
How many people will be there?
We are capping the event at 40 attendees. This is to help foster connections and give people a
chance to connect with everyone else there over the course of the weekend.
Will this be an annual event?
We certainly hope so! We aim to run an awesome event that people will want to return to each
year. Thank you to the global FI community for the inspiration, encouragement and resources
they’ve shared with us.
What is the itinerary?
Presenters and presentation topics are yet to be confirmed, but a lot of time will be set aside for
informally getting to know the other attendees, and there will be time to explore the nature around
the camp. The emphasis is on mutual learning through conversations throughout the weekend, not
just frontal lectures. Participants are encouraged to give a talk or lead a session about a topic of
interest to them; if you might be interested in presenting, please let us know!
